A Spirit of Thanks

Has anyone seen the "black friday preview" ads? They have actually managed to start their black friday sales DURING Thanksgiving dinner. Call me crazy, but there is no way on God's green earth that I would go choose to shop during Thanksgiving dinner. No "deal" is worth that. It makes me sad in many ways...

1- I love Black Friday. Sure, I never get that "tv for $50" but I always have the best time shopping for others, and being that annoying happy girl in the midst of grumps. Well...with it starting at 6pm...I guess I wont be joining them.

2- What is our country coming to? Can't they just leave holidays where they are on the calendar? We skip right over Thanksgiving because there's no sales profit for it unless you are a grocery store.

Well...in the spirit of Thanks, I will share with you what we will be doing. Maybe it will spark some thanks in your life too.

For the first time, I am hosting Thanksgiving! I am so excited...its one of my favorite holidays. Yummy food, family, and giving thanks. My family has SO much to be thankful for and I want my kids growing up with a thankful, loving heart. Each place at our table will have a place to write what you are thankful for, along with a notecard with a Bible verse.

The menu is a blend of family "must haves" and Pinterest. Here is our list of yummies:

-turkey, stuffing, and gravy (made by my wonderful mawmaw)

-mashed taters

-dressing

-corn casserole

-sweet potato casserole

-fried green beans

-stuffed mushrooms (my specialty)

-homemade rolls

-cranberry sauce

-pumpkin pie

-pinterest appetizers

-crockpot apple cider...yumm!!!

Now you cant be at my house and not see some homemade decor...so here is my inspiration board. Ive done a few of these so far, and I have to say, its added some warmth around here!

1 Thesselonians 5:18 "Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."
